Not enough verified data yet

We've verified 9 of 13 key facts for this ordering platform. Until we reach 80%, this page shows what we have, with sources, and it isn't a full review.

Our verdict

Aimed at multi-location brands: POS integration is for brands with 10 or more locations. Ask for the contract terms in writing, since they aren't public.

What we like

  • No setup fee, and a 14-day trial that starts when you go live.
  • You choose your card processor (one that works with the NMI gateway), and Checkmate takes no part of the processing fees.
  • Email support answered around the clock (about an hour's wait) and a 24/7 AI chat, plus phone from 8 a.m. to midnight Central.
  • Integrates the delivery apps with many POS systems, including Toast, Square, Clover and SpotOn.

What to watch

  • Monthly prices are by quote, and Checkmate doesn't publish its contract for restaurants (notice, cancellation fee, data).
  • Its direct POS integration is offered to brands with 10 or more locations.
  • Its direct ordering can't use the card processing built into your POS; you need a processor that works with the NMI gateway.
  • Loyalty, marketing and online monitoring are add-ons.
