This comparison is a draft. We're still verifying each processor's data, so some cells say "Unconfirmed" or "Not published" until we check them against the vendor's own pages and contracts.
Processors sell the same card payments in very different ways: one flat rate, interchange plus a markup, a monthly subscription, or tiers that are hard to compare. We put every one of them on the same footing: what a typical restaurant pays in a year, what leaving costs, how fast the money arrives and what the contract lets the processor change. If a processor offers dual pricing or a surcharge, what your customers pay is shown apart and never added to your cost. If a vendor doesn't publish something, you'll see "Not published" or "Quote only", never a zero.
If you don't know where to start:
- Put your card sales in the cost calculator to see your monthly cost and effective rate.
- See the ranking and the contracts and early termination fees of every processor.
- Before you pass the card fee to your customers, read the rules by state.
- Read how we score card processors.
