Our verdict

Fits restaurants that want to deliver their own orders without drivers of their own, through many ordering platforms. Ask for your rate per delivery, since it depends on distance, speed and how you connect, and keep the 60 days' notice in mind if you plan to switch.

What we like

  • No subscription, startup costs or monthly minimum: you pay per delivery.
  • Works with Toast, Square, Lightspeed and many ordering platforms, through Uber's API or its dashboard.
  • Deliveries in under 2 hours, the same day or scheduled up to 30 days ahead.
  • 24/7 phone support for Uber Direct merchants.

What to watch

  • Only a starting price is published ($7.99); your rate depends on distance, speed, how you connect and market.
  • One-year term that renews each year; ending it takes 60 days' notice.
  • Uber can raise the delivery charges once a year with 60 days' notice.
  • Support for your customers is yours, unless you pay extra for Uber to handle it.
